INITIATIVES
Rutgers Enactus currently has 3 Research & Development initiatives. The R&D process revolves around researching social issues, analyzing community needs, brainstorming solutions, and more. Rutgers Enactus members are able to create their own initiatives based on issues and causes they're interested in.
New beginnings
New Beginnings aims to reduce recidivism rates, or the rate at which people reoffend, through mentorship and employment. Within 5 years from release of prison, 76% of people are reincarcerated. To help with this issue, New Beginnings built a website and mobile app that serve as information hubs in which previously incarcerated people can find much needed resources such as food banks, clothing drives, and financial literacy materials. New Beginnings is now working to get this website into the hands of those who need it, and improve upon the website they have built.
Environmental sustainability project (ESP)
This initiative is committed to creating a more sustainable and less wasteful campus culture. Their goal is to take action towards the reduction of carbon emissions and other pollutants in the Rutgers and New Brunswick communities. Through research and outreach, they are developing their educational Instagram account that will help create a more environmentally friendly university, community, and world.

Ignite
This initiative aims to help people experiencing homelessness or unemployment. Their goal is to help the underprivileged population develop business skills that will eventually help them secure a job. They plan on achieving this by gathering volunteers, offering bi-weekly workshops and speaker sessions, and creating a strong community between Rutgers and the people of New Brunswick.
